– Interviewer: After light weight GP, how did you improve yourself?
– Aoki: I think I’ve done a tough job at GP and it made me stronger. I believe “I led DREAM”, so I think there is a difference between me and a guy who did not think about DREAM.
– Interviewer: It’s a sudden offer, right?
– Aoki: I’m so happy as a fighter if promoter says “I need you!”. It’s been 4 years from my debut fights. At first, I was asking promoter “I wanna fight! Please give me a offer!”, but now promoter is asking me “Please take this offer!”. It’s so happy as a professional fighter.
– Interviewer: How much do you weight during off season.
– Aoki: My weight is between 75kg – 77kg. I have no hobby besides MMA. My hobby became my job, so I’m always with MMA guys. So, my condition is always good!
– Interviewer: After September, There will be a New year’s eve event. What you think about Open weight match ups?
– Aoki: Hahaha You are saying grueling thing! Well who is gonna best..? Me vs Badr Hari? This fight will kill me! Hahaha but I think I can beat him if the fight is MMA rule. I don’t chose opponent. Anybody is fine. Or, Me vs Akiyama? Haha I can do that! I don’t have any fear.
– Interviewer: You think you can beat Akiyama?
– Aoki: Well… I think I can. Honestly, I’ve been pursing MMA from March and I love Japanese MMA, and I’ve always been as a fighter. So I think there will be a difference between me and a guy who has been playing game.
– Interviewer: «Akiyama took the easy way out»?
– Aoki: Every person has own style and every fighter has own attitude. So, I don’t wanna say anything about it. However, I love “the way of life of Shinya Aoki”. I love my attitude as a challenger and I wanna be always such fighter. Then, just fans will judge me and Akiyama. I just love my way of life.
